Lived there for about a year and loved it. Not too far inland, so you still get the nice San Diego climate, but not too close to the coast as to pay outrageous housing costs, relatively. As the other poster said, low crime, housing is reasonable, and overall very ncie.

In the morning, the muffins are fresh baked on the premises. Also try the breakfast burritos. For lunch try the mushroom and spinach quiche with caesar salad.

One of the finer locales in San Diego. Housing is still reasonable, there is very little crime, and only minutes from La Jolla.

The walls are not "solid granite"; they are cinder blocks. There are probably about 50 coats of paint on them! Watch them turn into condos some day, or perhaps they will tear the whole place down and rebuild. There are 17 acres here; the place is worth a fortune!
