Job Title: Health Care Consultant Location: CA - West Sacramento (with branch office in San Diego) Employment Status: Full Time Job Requisition Number: 16993 External Description: Analytic Team seeks a technically oriented SAS programmer to assist in development, deployment and maintenance of our databases and analytic tools. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years current experience in SAS and demonstrable skill with version 9 SAS BASE, INTRNET, CONNECT, and other modules. Experience building and optimizing large SAS data sets is a must. Knowledge of Unix, Sql, Oracle as well as HTML, JAVA and business intelligence software such as COGNOS are highly desirable. Familiarity with the managed healthcare industry or workers compensation is a real plus. Must be able to communicate effectively with IT departments, management and non-technical colleagues in person and remotely. Hi, I should not have said in the email subject "Rusty found a job" because I was not really looking for a job. Actually, the company paid a technical recruiter who was searching nationally since August 2006 and she found me. She said that it was a very rare combination of SAS, SQL and Unix skills and they have already checked dozens of candidates, and since I worked in that company (the smaller CCN PPO company that was acquired by the bigger First Health Managed Care company) the recruiter thought that it was a no-brainer for them to just hire me back. Everything went so fast that the duration took only seven days from the first phone call that I received until I got the job offer after two quick phone interviews. I never knew COGNOS and Java, but they said they will train me. I should have said "Rusty got lucky". :-) Regards,
